PYUR to solowe przedsięwzięcie berlińskiej artystki elektronicznej Sophie Schnell. Jej prace, których podstawy zakorzenione są w klasycznej kompozycji i kunszcie wokalnym, rodzą się z połączenia synestetycznych doświadczeń oraz życia wśród szamanów, co skutkuje jej unikalnym i przekraczającym granice brzmieniem. PYUR po raz pierwszy pojawiła się w 2016 roku ze swoim albumem audiowizualnym Epoch Sinus wydanym przez Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings. Odzwierciedlając dojrzałe i głęboko zakorzenione wartosci, Epoch Sinus unika rozróżnień między wizualnością a dźwiękiem, aby ujawnić ich wspólne energetyczne podłoże. Wkrótce po wydaniu, PYUR zagrała Oktophonie Stockhausena dla Berlin Atonal, a kilka miesięcy później powróciła do kultowego zespołu Kraftwerk na zamówienie Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, współpracując z Valerio Tricolim (PAN). Następnie powierzono jej zagranie koncertu otwierającego MONOM 4D Sound System w berlińskim Funkhaus. Od tego czasu otworzyła także Autechre w MacQuarie Wharf na Tasmanii podczas Dark Mofo Festival i zaprezentowała nowy przestrzenny utwór dla berlińskiego Zeiss-Großplanetarium w listopadzie 2018 roku. Jesienią 2019 roku PYUR wydała swój drugi album w wytwórni Avant Garde Imprint Subtext Recordings, bezgraniczny dźwiękowo „Oratorio for the Underworld”.
Podczas intensywnego okresu podróży między wioską rybacką w Bretanii, górami Jura i alpejską wioską w Tyrolu, PYUR skomponowała swój trzeci album, zatytułowany „Lucid Anarchy”, dziewięć pryzmatycznych, mglistych i emocjonalnie surowych utworów elektronicznych, przywołujących ekstatyczną słodko-gorzkość odkrywania własnego istnienia pośród nieustającego upadania pewności i siebie. Album został wydany 12 stycznia ’24 pod szyldem Subtext Recordings.

PYUR is the burgeoning solo endeavor of Berlin-based electronic artist Sophie Schnell. With a foundation rooted in classical composition and vocal artistry, her works are born from the fusion of her synesthetic experiences and her upbringing within a lineage of shamans, resulting in her unique and boundary-defying sound. PYUR first appeared in 2016 with the full-length audiovisual album Epoch Sinus on Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings. Reflecting a mature and deeply-seated signature, Epoch Sinus eschewed distinctions between the visual and the sonic to reveal their underlying energetic substrate. Shortly after its release, PYUR performed on Stockhausen’s Oktophonie for Berlin Atonal, earning a return to the iconic Kraftwerk months later for a Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester commission with PAN’s Valerio Tricoli. She was then entrusted with the grand opening performance for MONOM 4D Sound System at Berlin’s Funkhaus. She’s since opened for Autechre at MacQuarie Wharf in Tasmania during the Dark Mofo Festival and presented a new spatialized piece for Berlin’s Zeiss-Großplanetarium in November 2018. In Fall 2019 PYUR released her second album on Avant Garde Imprint Subtext Recordings, the borderless sonic terrain of „Oratorio for the Underworld”. During an intense period of travel between a fisher village in Bretagne, the Jura mountains and an alpine village in Tirol, PYUR composed her third full-length album, titled „Lucid Anarchy“, nine prismatic, nebulous and emotionally raw electronic pieces that evoke the ecstatic bittersweetness of discovering one’s continued existence amongst the perpetual collapse of certainty and self. The album was released on January 12th ’24 under the banner of Subtext Recordings.
