Łącząc dwa pokolenia włoskiej sceny muzyki eksperymentalnej, Grand River i Abul Mogard scalają swoje odmienne podejścia w ewoluującą, nasyconą emocjami przestrzeń dźwiękową. Meandrujące akordy, narastające sprzężenia i wielowarstwowa instrumentacja budują nieustanne poczucie ruchu oraz napięcia. Nawet w najcichszych momentach ich muzyka nie ulega bezruchowi, stopniowo rozwijając się w coś potężnego i wszechogarniającego, kształtowanego przez kontrasty, skalę oraz piękno muzyki filmowej.
Na swoim pierwszym wspólnym albumie, wydanym w 2024 roku nakładem wytwórni Cateriny Barbieri light-years, artyści eksplorują przestrzeń dźwiękową, gdzie czas zdaje się rozpływać w czystą atmosferę. Płyta „In uno spazio immenso” balansuje między rozmachem i operową intensywnością a chwilami delikatnej powściągliwości, eksponując zarówno subtelne ślady rytmiczne, jak i gęste, immersyjne faktury. Projekt, łączący brzmienie syntezatorów z przetwarzanym sygnałem gitary, był prezentowany wielokrotnie, w tym na festiwalach MUTEK i Berlin Atonal, a także w Centre Pompidou.

Bridging two generations of Italy’s experimental music scene, Grand River and Abul Mogard merge their distinct approaches into a slow-moving, emotionally charged expanse. Undulating chords, swelling feedback and layered instrumentation create a continuous sense of motion and tension. Even in its quietest moments, the music resists stillness, gradually unfolding into something immense and enveloping, shaped by contrast, scale and a cinematic sense of beauty.
On their first collaborative album for Caterina Barbieri’s light-years, released in 2024, they explore a sonic space where time seems to dissolve into pure atmosphere. „In uno spazio immenso” shifts between sweeping, operatic intensity and moments of fragile restraint, casting light on both subtle rhythmic traces and dense, immersive textures. Combining synthesisers and processed guitar, the project has been presented live at festivals and venues including MUTEK, Centre Pompidou and Berlin Atonal, among others.
